About Us

A Heart In Hope was established in memory of our beloved Avery John, the son of our founder Lori. During the four and a half months that Avery spent living in the hospital Lori witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by families of critically ill children. While the hospital provided exceptional care, Lori recognized significant gaps that needed to be addressed, such as the financial strain of lodging, funeral costs, and food vouchers. Many families are forced to choose between working and being present with their children during these irreplaceable moments. Inspired by her experiences, Lori founded A Heart In Hope with the generous support of the Anthony & Dorthy Bardaro Foundation, established by her late uncle A Heart In hope was created . This partnership, along with the help of other compassionate philanthropists, aims to alleviate the burdens on families, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: spending precious time together.
